Coachbuilder Steering Kit | For BDS 4.5"–7", Fabtech 6", ProComp 6"–7" & Zone 5" Lifts | Fits Toyota Tundra 2007+ | Ekstrom Design
Lift a 2007+ Toyota Tundra five, six, or seven inches and the factory tie rod ends run at angles they were never designed for — the usual result is bump steer, vague steering, and chewed-up front tires. This Coachbuilder steering kit is built for exactly those trucks: BDS 4.5"–7", Fabtech 6", ProComp 6"–7", and Zone 5" lift kits. Billet arms and heat-treated chromoly heims add up to 30% more strength and steering travel, keep toe steady through the lift’s longer arc, and noticeably sharpen steering response and control. One note before ordering: if your BDS or ProComp lift was installed in 2010 or earlier, use the OE Replacement kit instead.
Features
- Purpose-matched to BDS 4.5"–7", Fabtech 6", ProComp 6"–7", and Zone 5" Tundra lifts
- Up to 30% more strength and travel in the steering
- Greatly reduces bump steer and uneven tire wear while improving response
- 7075 billet aluminum, hard anodized, with 7/8" heat-treated 4130 chromoly rod ends and PTFE inserts
- 303 stainless steel misalignment shims, rubber grease boots, and hardened hardware
- Rebuildable joints — service them instead of replacing the kit
- Steering knuckle must be drilled; the correct drill bit ships in the box
- Installs in 45–60 minutes
Coachbuilder recommends 20" or larger wheels; 17" and 18" wheels work only with 0mm offset or less. Set the alignment to the published specs once it’s on. Trucks with a pre-2011 BDS or ProComp install belong on the OE Replacement Steering Kit, and BulletProof-lifted Tundras get their own BulletProof 6"–8" & 10"–12" Steering Kit. Down the road, the Steering Kit Rebuild Kit renews each joint — find every option in our tie rods and steering collection.

Which lift kits does this steering kit work with?
It is matched to BDS 4.5"–7", Fabtech 6", ProComp 6"–7", and Zone 5" lift kits on Toyota Tundra 2007+ models. One important exception: if your BDS or ProComp lift was installed in 2010 or earlier, Coachbuilder directs you to the OE Replacement Steering Kit instead. BulletProof 6"–8" and 10"–12" lifts use their own dedicated Coachbuilder kit.
Is this a straight bolt-on install?
Almost — unlike the OE Replacement kit, this application does require modification of the steering knuckle, and the correct drill bit is included in the box. Total install time still runs about 45–60 minutes. Afterward, align to +0.2 degrees camber per side, +2.2 to +2.5 degrees caster per side, and +0.07 to +0.10 toe per side, not exceeding +0.20 combined.
What wheels do I need to clear it?
Coachbuilder recommends 20" wheels or larger, which work with this kit on these taller lifts. If you are staying on 17" or 18" wheels, they must run a 0mm offset or less to clear the steering. Confirm your wheel size and offset before ordering — it is the one fitment item that catches people out on the 5"–7" lift applications.
