Axles & Axle Components FAQs
What does an axle truss do?
A truss adds a structural member to the axle tube to resist bending and help prevent the tube from bowing under hard use or with big tires. It also usually protects against impacts. Fitment depends on the axle model and vehicle, so match the listing.
How do I know which axle my Jeep has?
Check the axle tag or casting numbers, or look up the vehicle's build information by year and trim. Front and rear axles are often different. If you are not sure, call (920) 249-7744 before ordering.
Is a swap kit a complete axle?
Not necessarily. A swap kit typically supplies the brackets and hardware to adapt an axle to the vehicle, and listings say what is included. Complete axle sets are listed separately.
Do I need to regear after an axle swap?
Often, if the new axle has a different ratio than the original or if you changed tire size. Front and rear ratios must match on a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Will Jeep JL and Gladiator parts fit a Wrangler TJ?
Only where the listing says so. Some Artec swap kits are designed to bring JL or JT axles into a TJ or LJ. Read the title and the listing details.
