Differentials

Differential covers and lockers, mainly Artec Industries Hardcore diff covers for Dana 30, 35, 44, 50 and 60 axles and for Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT front and rear axles. Agency 6 and Canyon Adventure Vans add Sprinter locker storage. Identify your axle model and bolt size before ordering a cover.

What's in Differentials

This is a small, focused collection of differential covers and lockers. Most of it is Artec Industries Hardcore diff covers for Dana 30, 35, 44, 50, 60 and 70, Ford 8.8 and Model 35 axles, and for Jeep Wrangler JL front and rear axles. You'll also find ReadyLIFT, Agency 6 and Canyon Adventure Vans pieces, including Sprinter locker storage.

By type, diff covers are the biggest group, then lockers.

How to choose

The cover has to match your axle, so identify it first.

  • Identify the axle by its tag, casting or housing shape. For a Wrangler JL, check whether it's the M200 or M186 and front or rear.
  • Check the cover's bolt pattern and axle model before you order.
  • Plan on fresh gear oil when you reinstall the cover.
  • Lockers depend on gearing and axle, so confirm compatibility.

Axle work often goes with axle reinforcements and differential covers. For the wider range, see drivetrain parts.

Differentials FAQs

How do I know which Dana axle I have?

Look for the axle tag, the housing shape and the cover bolt count, or check your build sheet. The vehicle selector can also narrow it by year. If you're unsure, call us before you order.

Does a heavy-duty diff cover make my axle stronger?

It can protect the cover area from impacts and may hold more fluid, but it doesn't change the gears or housing strength.

Will an Artec cover fit my Jeep Wrangler JL?

There are listings for JL M200 rear and M186 front. Check which axle you have.

Do I need to change the gear oil?

Yes. Any time you remove a cover you'll need to refill with the right gear oil, and check whether your axle needs a friction modifier.

Are lockers sold here?

A small number are listed. Lockers depend on your axle and gearing, so read the listing and call (920) 249-7744 to confirm it suits your vehicle.
