Prinsu Design Studio FAQs
Are Prinsu roof racks any good?
Yes. Prinsu racks are known for a slim, low-profile design built in-house in Idaho Falls, and they carry a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. The common trade-offs owners mention are some wind noise (Prinsu's wind deflector helps) and shade over a sunroof. Buy the rack made for your exact generation and you get a clean, factory-looking fit.
Is Prinsu the same company as CBI Offroad Fab?
They're sister brands, which is why you'll see "CBI Prinsu" racks mentioned in reviews. Prinsu handles the racks; CBI makes armor like sliders and bumpers. NVMOS carries both.
Which Prinsu rack fits my Tacoma?
For 2024-2025 Tacomas we carry the Original Prinsu roof rack and the Prinsu Pro cab rack. For 2005-2023, there's a Prinsu cab rack and a Prinsu Pro cab rack, with Desert Air Intake versions for trucks running Toyota's raised intake. Double Cab owners with a shell can use a Prinsu top rack instead.
Does Prinsu make a roof rack for the Land Cruiser or Lexus GX?
Yes. We carry Prinsu racks for the Land Cruiser 80, 100 and 200 Series, the Lexus GX470 and GX460 (Original and Prinsu Pro), and the Lexus LX570 and LX600.
What's the difference between Original Prinsu and Prinsu Pro?
Both use Prinsu's low-profile design. Prinsu Pro is the newer line and covers more vehicles; the most concrete difference day to day is lead time, roughly 1 week for an Original rack versus about 5 weeks for Pro. Call us if you want help comparing the two for your vehicle.
Where is Prinsu based?
Prinsu Design Studio is in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and builds its racks with an in-house engineering and fabrication team.
What's the difference between drill and non-drill Prinsu racks?
Both work similarly. The drilled version adds a fixed mounting point, which Prinsu recommends for heavier loads such as rooftop tents.
How much weight can a Prinsu rack carry?
Prinsu doesn't publish an official weight rating, but says its racks have held about 600 lb static and 300 lb dynamic in field testing.
How long until my Prinsu rack ships?
Current estimates are about 1 week for Original Prinsu roof racks, about 5 weeks for Prinsu Pro racks and 1–2 weeks for accessories. These are estimates, not guarantees.
Will a Prinsu rack interfere with my sunroof?
No. The racks are designed not to touch sunroofs, though the rack may block some light.
How long is the Prinsu warranty?
Prinsu-made parts carry a limited lifetime warranty for the original retail buyer, and hardware kits get 1 year. The powder-coat finish isn't covered.
Which Prinsu roof rack fits my 4Runner?
It depends on the generation. We carry Prinsu racks for the 1995.5-2002, 2003-2009, 2010-2024 and 2025 4Runner. Original racks cover all four, Prinsu Pro racks cover 2003 and later, and the 2010-2024 truck also has full non-drill and 3/4 options.
