How To Choose The Correct Size:
Not sure if you need a 1” shackle kit? Here’s an easy method to find out:
- Park your Tundra on a flat, level surface. Measure from the center of the front and rear wheel openings down to the ground or tire tops. Write these measurements down.
- Use a floor jack to raise the rear of the truck (lifting at the hitch) until you achieve your desired stance — ideally at least .750" higher in the rear than the front for proper rake.
- Measure again and calculate the difference. This difference indicates how much lift you need.
Installation Tips for Tundra Rear Shackles:
- Before starting, remove the rear lower shock bolts and spare tire for easier access.
- For Tundras with TRD dual exhaust, unhook the rubber exhaust hangers at the tailpipe to allow better clearance.
- With the frame safely supported and the rear axle at full droop, remove the factory shackles from the frame and leaf pack.
- Use a ball joint press tool to remove the stock rubber bushings from the rear leaf spring eyelets.
- Grease and install the new poly bushings and center sleeves, tapping them gently into place with a soft hammer.
- Lubricate all bolts using the supplied grease before installing them into the shackles.
- Reassemble, torque bolts to 70 ft-lbs, reinstall the spare tire, and secure the lower shock bolts.
Enhance your Toyota Tundra’s suspension and get the perfect lift with the Coachbuilder +1” Shackle Kit — engineered for performance, durability, and serious off-road adventure.
