The Group 34 is the workhorse of the Optima line — RedTop and YellowTop 34-series batteries live in thousands of Jeep and truck builds — and this Artec Industries mount bolts one down properly. CNC-cut from 10-gauge (.130") cold-roll steel as a rigid single piece, the cradle is sized to the Group 34 case so the battery cannot walk, chafe, or hammer itself apart on washboard and rock. Pressed-in PEM nuts give the hold-down bolts captive threads, and a window keeps the spec label visible. It is the tidy way to do a relocation, tray build, or second battery.
Features
- CNC-cut from 10-gauge (.130") cold-roll steel in a rigid one-piece design
- Cradle sized to the Group 34 Optima (RedTop/YellowTop, including 34/78) for a snug, no-shift fit
- Self-clinching (PEM) nuts pressed in for captive, clean-threading fasteners
- Open window lets you read battery specs without removing the battery
- Five 1/4" bolts with nylock nuts included to secure the battery
- Bolts to any flat horizontal surface through countersunk base holes, or weld it in
Verify your battery is a 34-series Optima before ordering — Group 31 and Group 25/35 cases need their own Artec trays. The mount ships bare, so coat it before install. If your relocation puts the battery against a wall instead of a floor, use the Group 34 Optima rear mount; for base fasteners grab the 4-bolt battery mounting kit. The Group 31 mount covers the bigger D31, and the full Artec Industries lineup is here.
Group 34 Optima Battery Mount FAQs
Which batteries fit this mount?
It is sized for the Group 34 Optima — RedTop and YellowTop 34-series cases, including 34/78 models. The larger Group 31 (D31) and the Group 25/35 use different cases, and Artec makes a dedicated mount for each of those. Match the tray to your exact battery group.
Should I buy this or the Group 34 rear mount?
Choose this top mount if the battery will sit on a flat horizontal surface — a tray, floor, or fabricated shelf. Choose the rear mount if you are hanging the battery flat against a vertical panel such as a firewall or cargo wall. Both hold the same Group 34 Optima.
Is it ready to install out of the box?
Mechanically yes — PEM nuts are pressed in and five 1/4" bolts with nylock nuts are included for the hold-down. But it ships in bare steel, so paint or powder coat it first to prevent rust. Base-mounting hardware is separate; use Artec's 4-bolt battery mounting kit or weld the mount in.
