Rubicon JLs and Gladiator JTs carry the 220mm M220 Dana 44 rear; most non-Rubicon Wranglers use the smaller M200 Dana 35. Check the axle tag on the housing or compare the factory cover shape. If yours is the M200, Artec makes a dedicated M200-D35 rear cover instead.
How long does installation take?
Plan on roughly one hour. Drain the gear oil, clean the mating surface, set the cover with your sealant of choice, and run in the 12 included high-strength bolts. There is no cutting or welding — it is a straightforward driveway job with hand tools.
Will it protect an aftermarket locker in the rear diff?
Yes — the cover's job is the same regardless of what carrier is inside. The thick nodular-iron walls keep rock strikes from reaching the ring gear, carrier, and locker, and the magnetic drain plug helps you spot abnormal wear metal before it becomes a failure.
