Group 34 Optima Battery Rear Mount

$104.49

No floor space left for a battery? The Group 34 Optima Rear Mount is Artec Industries' vertical-surface answer. Instead of bolting down to a flat tray, this bracket fastens to a firewall, inner fender, cargo-area wall, or fabricated panel and cradles a Group 34 Optima horizontally off that surface. It is CNC-cut from 10-gauge (.130") cold-roll steel as a rigid one-piece bracket with pressed-in PEM nuts, making it a purpose-built solution for relocations and dual-battery builds where wall space is all you have.

Features

  • Mounts to any flat vertical surface while holding the Group 34 Optima flat and horizontal
  • CNC-cut from 10-gauge (.130") cold-roll steel in a rigid one-piece design
  • Snug cradle eliminates the battery movement that causes premature wear
  • Self-clinching (PEM) nuts pressed in — fasteners thread into the bracket with nothing loose behind the panel
  • Open window keeps the battery label and specs readable without pulling the battery
  • Assembled footprint roughly 10" long x 7" wide x 8" tall
  • Bolt-on install; welding only needed if you fabricate your own mounting panel

Measure your panel before ordering — you need a flat vertical surface that clears the bracket's roughly 10" x 8" face plus battery depth. The bracket ships in bare steel and must be coated before install. If your build has floor space after all, the flat Group 34 Optima top mount is the simpler route, and the 4-bolt battery mounting kit supplies standalone hardware. More fabrication-grade parts live in the Artec Industries collection.

Group 34 Optima Battery Rear Mount FAQs

How is this different from the standard Group 34 Optima mount?

The standard mount bolts the battery down onto a flat horizontal surface. This rear-mount version fastens to a vertical panel — firewall, inner fender, cargo wall — and holds the battery horizontal off that wall. Choose it when your build has wall space but no floor space; the bracket measures roughly 10" x 7" x 8" assembled.

What vehicles does it fit?

It is universal. The bracket is built around the Group 34 Optima battery footprint rather than any chassis, so it works on Jeep, Toyota, and full-size truck builds alike — anywhere there is a suitable flat vertical surface to bolt to. Some trimming or adaptation may be needed for a clean install in your specific location.

Does it require welding or a finish coat?

No welding is required for the mount itself — it bolts to your chosen panel using the pressed-in PEM nuts, and welding only comes into play if you fabricate a custom mounting surface. It does need finishing: the bracket ships in bare cold-roll steel and must be painted or powder coated before use to prevent rust.
