Front Frame Coil Buckets for OEM Bumpstops, Jeep Wrangler TJ & LJ 1997-2006
The front frame coil buckets on a hard-used Jeep Wrangler TJ or LJ are a known weak point — they rust out, crack, and tear where the shock stem loads them. These Artec Front Frame Coil Buckets are a heavy-duty weld-in replacement that restores the front coil and shock mounts in one shot, and they double as conversion buckets for putting coil suspension under a leaf-sprung YJ or similar chassis. CAD-modeled from Chrysler data, they land in the factory location and keep the OEM bumpstop threading, so your factory jounce hardware threads right back in.
Features
- CNC laser-cut and bent from 3/16" steel
- Direct weld-in replacement for rusted, cracked, or torn factory coil buckets
- Retains the factory bumpstop threading — OEM jounce hardware reinstalls
- Gusseted between the coil bucket and shock mount for extra strength
- Includes a 2.0" OD DOM tubing piece for a factory-style shock stem mount
- Add shock tabs instead to run a clevis or bushing-style shock
- Also serves YJ leaf-to-coil front conversions; made in the USA
Sold as a pair for the Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ (1997-2006) front frame. This is a fabrication job: the old buckets get cut off, the new ones get welded in, and Artec calls for welding and paint to finish — leave it to a competent welder if that is not you. Fixing the rear seats at the same time? Add the TJ Rear Coil Correction Kit. Going to a one-ton front axle, use the 1-ton swap offset coil buckets instead, and see the whole coil springs collection for related hardware.

Front Frame Coil Buckets for OEM Bumpstops, Jeep Wrangler TJ & LJ 1997-2006 FAQs
Which Jeeps do these buckets fit?
They are built for the front frame of the Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ (1997-2006), where they directly replace rusted or torn factory buckets. They also work as conversion buckets when swapping a leaf-sprung YJ or similar chassis over to front coil suspension. The Chrysler CAD-based fitment puts them in the factory location.
How hard is the installation?
It is a genuine fabrication job. You cut the damaged factory buckets off the frame, position the new ones, and weld them in — Artec specifies welding and painting to finish. If you are not confident welding on a frame, have a professional shop do it.
What are my shock mounting options?
Two ways: use the included 2.0" OD DOM tubing to build a factory-style shock stem mount, or skip the stem and weld on shock tabs to run a clevis or bushing-style shock. Either way the bucket keeps the factory bumpstop threading, so the OEM jounce cup bolts back in.
