Ford 8.8 Swap OEM Shock Mounts (Pair) for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006
When you swap a Ford 8.8 rear axle under a Jeep Wrangler TJ, the shocks still need to land in the stock location — and these Artec Industries mounts put them there. They are the exact driver- and passenger-side shock mounts from Artec's TJ 8.8 swap kit, sold separately by request for builders piecing a swap together or replacing damaged brackets. Each mount is 1/4" boxed steel plate, cut to wrap the 8.8's 3.25" axle tubes and position the shock in the OEM under-tube location.
Features
- 1/4" boxed steel plate construction for strength and impact resistance
- 1.375" mounting width with a 1/2" bolt hole fits standard shocks
- Cut to wrap the Ford 8.8's 3.25" diameter axle tubes
- Locates shocks in the factory under-tube position for correct geometry
- Same mounts included in Artec's full TJ 8.8 swap kit
- Adaptable to other axle tube sizes with minor modification; sold as a pair
These are weld-on brackets: position each mount with about a 1/2" gap to the lower control arm bracket, rotate to roughly 74 degrees from level, weld in place, then prime and paint the bare steel. If welding is not your strength, have an off-road shop install them. Building the whole swap? Start with the TJ 8.8 Swap Kit with Truss and matching OEM LCA brackets, or step up to High Clearance Shock Brackets if you want the shocks tucked higher. More options in shock mounts and brackets.

Ford 8.8 Swap OEM Shock Mounts (Pair) for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 FAQs
What vehicle and axle are these designed for?
They are built for a Ford 8.8 rear axle swapped into a Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006). The mounts are cut to wrap the 8.8's 3.25" axle tubes and place the shocks in the OEM under-tube position, so your stock-length or mildly lifted shock setup bolts up with factory-style geometry.
How are they installed?
They weld on. Cut off any existing mounts, grind the tube smooth, set each bracket with about a 1/2" gap to the lower control arm bracket, rotate it to roughly 74 degrees from level, and weld it in place. Finish with primer and paint — the brackets ship in bare steel. If you are not confident welding, have an off-road shop do it.
Are these the same mounts that come in the full swap kit, and do they fit other axles?
Yes — these are the identical driver and passenger mounts from Artec's TJ 8.8 swap kit, offered separately by request. They can also be adapted to other axles with minor modification, though they are cut specifically for 3.25" diameter tubes. Only the brackets are included; shocks and hardware are not.
