Is this kit vehicle specific?
No. It is a universal 12V kit — any vehicle with a spot to mount the bolt lights and tap power can use it. It was assembled with spare-tire-delete panels and relocated plate mounts in mind, such as Artec's JK and JL delete kits, and the 10 ft of wire covers a typical rear-plate routing run.
Do I have to splice into my vehicle's wiring?
Yes. The two included heat-shrink butt connectors let you tap a license-plate or switched power source, and the Deutsch-style waterproof connector gives you a sealed disconnect at the panel so the plate assembly can come off cleanly. Basic 12V wiring skills and a heat source for the heat-shrink are all you need.
How many lights come in the kit, and do I need both?
Two miniature dual LED bolt lights are included, and they double as the license plate mounting bolts. Some plate setups only need a single light — the JL license plate relocate is one example — so depending on your mount you may end up with a spare.
