Boatside Body Mounts (OEM Height) for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006
Artec's OEM-height Boatside Body Mounts replace the notoriously weak factory body mounts on the Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ — the ones that crush on rocks, hang up on ledges, and eventually rust off the frame entirely. Each mount is CNC laser cut and bent from 3/16" steel with a fully boxed, angled underside, so the mount itself becomes a skid that lets the tub slide over obstacles instead of catching. This is the stock-height version: it keeps the factory body position while fixing the strength and clearance problems, using CAD models built from factory Chrysler data for a precise fit.
Features
- CNC laser cut and CNC bent from 3/16" steel
- Fully boxed underside doubles as a skid plate
- Angled sides improve break-over angle and shed rocks
- CAD-designed from factory Chrysler models to complement the frame
- Locating tabs and laser-etched part numbers align the pieces for weld-up
- Keeps the body at OEM height — no bushing or driveline changes
- Made in the USA
Fits the Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006) and LJ Unlimited (2004-2006). These are weld-together, weld-on mounts — installation calls for a competent welder, and the bare steel needs paint or coating after welding (weld-through primer inside the boxed sections is a smart move). If you would rather gain clearance while you are in there, the 1.25" lift version raises the tub, with the Aluminum Body Mount Spacer Kit leveling the radiator and rear mounts to match. Boatside Body Mounts (OEM Height) for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 FAQs
Why replace the factory TJ body mounts?
The stock TJ and LJ mounts are thin, hang below the tub where they snag on rocks, and commonly rust off the frame in salt states. These 3/16" steel replacements are fully boxed, angled to shed obstacles, and act as skids — solving strength, clearance, and rust in one part.
Do these add any body lift?
No — this is the OEM-height version, so the tub stays exactly where the factory put it and nothing else on the Jeep needs to change. If you want extra clearance for tires or drivetrain work, Artec offers the same mount in a 1.25" lift version with a matching spacer kit for the radiator and rear mounts.
What does installation involve?
These are laser-cut, weld-together mounts that then weld to the frame, with locating tabs and etched part numbers keeping every piece aligned. Plan on a competent welder doing the work, and paint or coat the bare steel after welding — weld-through primer inside the boxed sections helps long-term rust resistance.
