1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit for Jeep Gladiator JT 2020+
Artec's 1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit handles the fabrication side of installing a Spidertrax or Ford 9-inch rear axle under a 2020-and-newer Jeep Gladiator JT. The 9-inch is the lighter one-ton choice with deep aftermarket support, and this patent-pending peaked-top truss stiffens the housing for big tires and hard trail miles while positioning the suspension for factory-style link, coil, shock, sway bar, and trackbar mounting. Total kit weight comes in near 53 lbs, and the design slashes weld time compared to older multi-piece trusses.
Features
- Peaked-top APEX geometry delivers more rigidity than a flat-top truss
- CNC laser cut from 1/4" and 3/16" mild steel, roughly 53 lbs total
- CNC bent in-house — the truss sets down on the axle ready to weld, nothing to piece together
- Modeled from Spidertrax and Jeep 3D data for precise fit and clearance
- Roughly 70% less welding than earlier designs cuts warping and shop time
- Pre-bent long seams mean no seam welding
- Made in the USA by Artec Industries in Utah
This kit is cut for the Spidertrax/Ford 9-inch housing, so verify your axle before ordering; installation is weld-on and requires real fabrication experience. Building around a Sterling instead? Use the JT APEX Rear Sterling Truss Swap Kit. If you want brackets that adapt to nearly any 3.5" tube axle, look at the JT APEX Rear Axle Swap Brackets. 1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit for Jeep Gladiator JT 2020+ FAQs
Which 9-inch housings does this kit fit?
It is designed around the Spidertrax/Ford 9-inch rear axle going under a 2020-and-newer Jeep Gladiator JT, and it was modeled from Spidertrax and Jeep 3D data. If your housing differs significantly from the Spidertrax pattern, verify dimensions before ordering. Matched JT kits are also offered for the Sterling 10.5.
Why pick a 9-inch over a 14 bolt or Sterling?
The 9-inch is the lighter one-ton option with huge aftermarket support for gears, shafts, and third members, which makes it popular for high-clearance builds. This kit weighs about 53 lbs — slightly less than Artec's Sterling version. The tradeoff is that a Spidertrax or built 9-inch housing usually costs more than a salvage-yard 14 bolt or Sterling.
Is this a bolt-on part?
No — the truss and brackets weld to the housing, so plan on a skilled welder tacking and welding in stages. The APEX design needs about 70% less bead than older trusses since the long seams are pre-bent rather than welded, which keeps heat and warp down. Expect to supply the axle, links, coils, shocks, and gears separately.
