1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018+
Artec Industries' JL 1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit brings the patent-pending APEX truss to the 2018-and-newer Jeep Wrangler JL, converting the rear of the Jeep to a Spidertrax/Ford 9-inch axle. The peaked-top truss contours to the differential with the coil brackets and bumpstop pads formed into the structure, adding rigidity a flat plate cannot match while holding total weight near 43 lbs. Pre-bent long seams replace welded ones, so the housing takes far less heat during the build — a straighter axle and a shorter stint under the welding hood.
Features
- Patent-pending APEX peaked-top truss purpose-cut for the JL chassis
- CNC laser cut in-house from 1/4" and 3/16" mild steel — about 43 lbs total
- CNC bent to drop into place on the 9-inch housing ready to weld
- Integrated coil brackets and bumpstop pads formed into the truss
- Preserves factory-style JL link, coil, sway bar, and trackbar locations
- Roughly 70% less welding than prior truss designs for less warping
- Modeled from Spidertrax and Jeep 3D data for fit and clearance
Fits the Wrangler JL (2018-present) with a Spidertrax or Ford 9-inch rear housing; welding and fabrication experience are required, and the bare steel needs paint after weld-out. Match the front with the APEX Front 9-Inch Swap Kit; JK owners should grab the JK version instead, and Gladiator builds running GM axles can use the JT 14-bolt kit. 1-Ton APEX Rear 9-Inch Truss Swap Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018+ FAQs
Which Jeep and axle combination does this kit cover?
It fits the 2018-and-newer Jeep Wrangler JL converting to a Spidertrax or Ford 9-inch rear axle. The truss and brackets are modeled from Spidertrax and Jeep 3D data so the swap works with factory-style link, coil, sway bar, and trackbar locations. JK and Gladiator JT builds use their own platform-specific APEX kits.
What is actually included in the kit?
The APEX peaked-top rear truss with the coil brackets and bumpstop pads integrated into it, plus the suspension mounting brackets for the 9-inch swap. You supply the 9-inch housing and axle internals — this kit is the steel that adapts and reinforces it for the JL.
How difficult is the welding?
The truss arrives CNC bent to drop into place, and the pre-bent long seams mean roughly 70% less weld length than older designs. It still needs a skilled welder working in stages to manage heat, and the bare steel should be painted once fabrication is complete.
