The inner C is where a Jeep front axle takes its worst beating — steering loads, big tires, and hard landings all concentrate right where the knuckle meets the tube, and over time the casting flexes and cracks. Artec’s Inner C Gussets box in the front Dana 30 or TJ/LJ Rubicon Dana 44 inner Cs with 1/4" precision-formed mild steel, designed in CAD from Chrysler data so they nest into the tight space around the C without crowding the coil springs. They are a smart insurance policy for any TJ, LJ, XJ, MJ, or ZJ that has outgrown stock tire sizes.

Which axles and Jeeps do these gussets fit?
They fit the front Dana 30 and the TJ/LJ Rubicon Dana 44 inner Cs. That covers the Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006) and LJ (2004-2006), Cherokee XJ (1984-2001), Comanche MJ (1986-1992), and Grand Cherokee ZJ (1993-1998). Identify your front axle before ordering — base models ran the Dana 30 while TJ/LJ Rubicons used the Dana 44.
Do these require welding, and how involved is the install?
Yes, they are weld-on gussets and should be installed by a competent welder. Artec recommends pre-heating and post-heating the welds with a slow cool-down, and the vendor estimates roughly 2-3 hours of shop time. If you are not confident welding on cast inner Cs, have a professional handle it.
Will they clear my coil springs?
They are clearanced for both stock and aftermarket coil springs, so interference is uncommon. In rare combinations the spring can lightly contact a gusset, in which case a small grinding relief solves it. The boxed shape still reinforces the C far better than a flat plate even after minor clearancing.
