Artec Hardcore Diff Cover for GM14T with M8 Bolts
The Artec Hardcore Diff Cover for the GM 14-bolt (10.5") axle armors your 1-ton rear with a thick nodular-iron casting in place of the stock stamped cover. This version fits ribbed GM 14-bolt differentials that use metric 8mm (M8) cover bolts; non-ribbed housings take 3/8" hardware and a different cover, so verify your bolts first. Under a swapped Wrangler, a dedicated crawler, or a working full-size truck, it takes the rock hits that cave in a factory cover and keeps the diff sealed.
Features
- High-strength nodular-iron casting for extreme-impact durability
- Thick walls protect the 14-bolt ring gear and carrier
- Correct bolt pattern for ribbed housings with 8mm (M8) cover bolts
- Magnetic drain plug captures metal debris from the gear oil
- Powder-coat finish resists corrosion and trail abrasion
- High-strength steel fasteners included; no welding or fabrication
Identifying your housing takes seconds: ribbed differential castings use M8 cover bolts (this cover), while non-ribbed housings need the GM14T cover for 3/8" bolts. Artec Hardcore Diff Cover for GM14T with M8 Bolts FAQs
How do I tell the M8 version from the 3/8" version?
Check your differential housing and cover-bolt threads. Ribbed 14-bolt housings use metric 8mm (M8) bolts — that is this cover. Non-ribbed housings use 3/8" bolts and need Artec's other GM14T version. Testing a bolt hole with known hardware before ordering avoids a return.
Will this fit a 14-bolt swapped under a Jeep?
Yes. The cover bolts to the GM 14-bolt (10.5") axle itself, so it does not matter whether the axle sits under a full-size GM truck, a swapped Wrangler, or a buggy. Just confirm your housing is the ribbed type with M8 cover bolts.
What is included and what do I still need?
The cover ships with a magnetic drain plug and a set of high-strength steel fasteners. You will still need gear oil for the refill and RTV sealant or a reusable gasket for the flange, plus basic hand tools, a drain pan, and a gasket scraper for surface prep.
