The Artec Industries JK HD Crossmember with Link Mounts replaces the thin factory transmission crossmember on a Jeep Wrangler JK with formed 1/4" steel — and builds the rear suspension link mounts straight into it. For long-arm and custom link builds, that solves two problems with one part: the flexy stock crossmember goes away, and the new link anchors land on a structure actually built to take suspension loads. Modeled from factory CAD data, it bolts into the stock location.

Which year version do I order?

Jeep changed the JK's transmission crossmember partway through the run, so Artec offers 2007-2011 and 2012-2018 versions. Order the one matching your model year — they are not interchangeable.

Does it bolt in or need welding?

It bolts straight into the factory crossmember location using 3/8" captive nuts and bolts, and it ships pre-welded so there is no fabrication. Note that exhaust modifications may be necessary on some setups, and the pressed-in nuts allow one-tool removal later.

Do I need the link mounts?

Only if your build adds rear suspension links — the integrated mounts give a long-arm or custom link setup a strong anchor at the belly. If you just want a stronger crossmember for protection, the standard JK HD Crossmember without link mounts costs less and installs the same way.
