Yes — soft covers are the main use case. Because clamp hardware conflicts with a soft cover's rail system, Big Days mounts the rack by bolting it directly to the bed, and this kit supplies that hardware. Your cover also needs 2" or more of exposed bed rail to give the rack a sturdy clamping location.
Does installation require drilling into my truck bed?
Yes. This method bolts the rack straight to the bed, which requires drilling holes for the four included 2" carriage bolts, secured with nylon lock nuts and washers. It's a permanent-style install, so measure carefully and confirm your cover leaves at least 2" of exposed bed rail before you drill.
What if my tonneau cover has a T-Track?
Use the Tonneau Cover T-Track Mounting Kit instead. It slides the rack's mounts directly into the cover's accessory track — no drilling — and the cover keeps opening and closing with the rack in place. This bolt-on kit is only for covers without a T-Track.
