AXIS Aluminum Steering Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT

$1,319.99

The AXIS Aluminum Steering Kit replaces the bend-prone factory tie rod and drag link on the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT with 7075 aluminum links that shed serious weight without giving up strength. Artec engineered it from 3D scans and ran the design in their ARTECON rig through five years of rock crawling and daily driving before release. If bigger tires have your JL or JT steering feeling vague and flexy, this is the bolt-in cure — no welding, no drilling.

Features

  • Tie rod and drag link machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum
  • Right- and left-hand 1.25" threaded tie rod and drag link ends
  • Opposing threads let you set toe and drag link length without disconnecting the ends
  • Machined wrench flats for easy tightening and adjustment
  • Includes four 1.25"-12 tpi jam nuts (two RH, two LH)
  • Proven through five years of ARTECON testing; made in the USA
  • Two versions match factory knuckle tapers by trim

Select the variant for your trim: one fits Sport, Sahara, Overland, and non-US/Canada JL International Rubicon; the other fits Rubicon, Sport MaxTow, and all International JTs — the difference is the knuckle taper. Building the whole front end? Pair it with the JL/JT Apex Front Axle Truss, or step to the Superduty Swap Aluminum Steering Kit if you are running a 1-ton axle. AXIS Aluminum Steering Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT FAQs

Which variant fits my Jeep?

Pick by trim, because the two versions use different knuckle tapers. One fits JL Sport, Sahara, Overland, and non-US/Canada International Rubicon models; the other fits Rubicon, Sport MaxTow, and all International JT Gladiators. Confirm your trim before ordering.

Does installation require any fabrication?

No. The AXIS kit is a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory tie rod and drag link. Opposing right- and left-hand threads with machined wrench flats let you set toe and drag link length on the vehicle, then lock everything down with the supplied 1.25"-12 tpi jam nuts.

Can aluminum steering handle rock crawling?

Artec ran this exact design on their ARTECON rig for five years of hard rock crawling and daily driving before selling it. The 7075 aluminum links are stronger than the factory parts they replace and far lighter than steel tube setups, and the 1.25" ends carry big-tire steering loads.
