This DIY steel steering kit replaces flimsy factory linkage with a 1-ton crossover setup built from seamless DOM tubing and offset JMX Pro 7/8" rod ends. The heat-treated chromoly heims are shaped to clear your differential cover and knuckle, while 1.5" x 1/4"-wall DOM tie rod and drag link tubes shrug off rock hits at a builder-friendly price. Because you cut the tubes to length yourself, one kit covers the Wrangler JK, TJ, and YJ, the Cherokee XJ, and the Grand Cherokee ZJ, including 1-ton axle swaps and high-steer builds where off-the-shelf links never fit right.
Features
- 1.5" OD x 1/4" wall seamless DOM steel tubing for maximum strength at low cost
- Offset heat-treated chromoly JMX Pro 7/8" rod ends clear the diff cover and knuckle
- 7/8"-14 tpi right- and left-hand threads for on-vehicle toe adjustment
- Machined wrench flats on the tube adapters for easy tightening
- Flippable above or below the knuckle, including right-hand-drive orientation
- 3/4" Grade 8 bolts fasten the tie rod and drag link to the knuckles
- Made in the USA
Plan on basic fabrication: tubes are cut to your measurements, knuckles get drilled to 3/4", and the tube adapters are welded in, so professional welding is recommended if you have not done it before.
