DIY Ram Mount for Dana 60 Full Hydro Steering

$369.99

The Artec Industries DIY Ram Mount is the fabricator's option for hanging a double-ended hydraulic ram on a Dana 60 front axle when no bolt-pattern-specific kit matches your build. The 1/4" mild steel cradle positions the ram along the axle tube and doubles as a full-length skid, so the same part that locates your steering also shields the ram and tie rod from rocks. It is clearanced for the rotated knuckles and pinions common on high-steer one-ton builds, and its low-profile shape keeps the underside from snagging ledges or crowding the oil pan.

Features

  • 1/4" mild steel ram mount and gussets, CNC laser cut and bent
  • Accepts most double-ended rams, including PSC Motorsports and Howe Performance
  • Mounting blocks center the steering cylinder in the cradle
  • Full-length skid spans the axle tube to resist bending and shearing
  • Clearanced for rotated knuckles and pinions on custom builds
  • Drainage holes shed mud and debris while cutting weight
  • Low-profile design protects without hanging into the rocks

As a DIY fabrication part, expect fitting work — custom housings, trusses, and diff covers can require trimming and clearancing before the mount welds to the axle, and only a competent welder should finish the job. Mock-fit the ram and tie rod alignment first, tack, then stitch-weld to avoid warping the housing. Already running an Artec 60 truss? The Bridge Upgrade Kit for 60 ties a ram mount into it. For housing-specific versions, see the 60 Full Hydro Ram Mount (No Truss) or the Super Duty 60 Full Hydro Ram Mount, and browse every hydraulic steering kit we carry.

DIY Ram Mount for Dana 60 Full Hydro Steering FAQs

Is this a complete full-hydro steering kit?

No — it is the ram mount, mounting blocks, and gussets only. You supply the double-ended hydraulic ram, steering box or orbital, hoses, and tie rod. Think of it as the structural foundation that locates and protects the ram on a Dana 60 front axle.

How much fabrication should I expect?

This is genuinely a DIY part. Depending on your housing, truss, and diff cover, plan on mock-fitting, trimming, and clearancing before final welding, and expect more work on non-standard axles. Mock up the ram in line with the tie rod, tack everything, then stitch-weld in stages so the housing does not warp. A competent welder is required.

Which rams does it accept, and will it clear my rotated knuckles?

The cradle accepts most double-ended rams and is designed around PSC Motorsports and Howe Performance cylinders, with mounting blocks that center the ram. It is also clearanced for rotated knuckles and pinions, which matters on high-pinion and high-steer one-ton builds.
