Superduty High Steer Cap-Spacer

$21.99

The Superduty High Steer Cap-Spacer is a simple 1/4" steel plate that solves two problems on a one-ton crossover steering build: it raises a Superduty high steer arm on a Reid Racing knuckle to fine-tune drag link angle and clearance, or it caps the open top of the knuckle when no arm sits on that side. Small part, but it is often the difference between a drag link that sweeps clean and one that clips a spring or track bar at full lock.

Features

  • Laser-cut from 1/4" steel for a flat, strong spacer or cap
  • Raises high steer arm height to dial in drag link angle
  • Doubles as a top cap for a Reid Racing Super Duty knuckle
  • Symmetrical design fits driver or passenger side
  • Bare steel finish, ready to run or coat

Hardware is not included, but the 1/2"-20 tpi thread it uses is a common hardware-store size, and ARP studs are unnecessary when the plate is used purely as a cap. Being bare steel, give it paint or powder coat if you want it to stay rust-free. Run it with the Superduty Swap Aluminum Steering Kit and the matching Spacer Adapters for the Superduty High Steer Arm, or browse the rest of our tie rods and steering parts.

Superduty High Steer Cap-Spacer FAQs

What does the cap-spacer actually do?

Under a Superduty high steer arm it acts as a 1/4" riser, lifting the arm to improve drag link angle and clearance around springs, trusses, and covers. On the opposite knuckle, or on a build without an arm, it works as a flat cap over the top of the Reid Racing knuckle.

Is mounting hardware included?

No. Hardware is not in the box, but the 1/2"-20 tpi thread it uses is a standard size stocked at any hardware store. ARP studs are not necessary when the plate is used simply as a cap.

Does it need paint?

Yes, eventually. It ships as bare laser-cut steel, so hit it with primer and paint or powder coat before or shortly after install to keep surface rust away. It fits either side of the axle, so no left/right ordering to worry about.
