The ARB Air Locker is a pneumatically operated locking differential. Flip a switch and the internal gears lock, tying both wheels directly to the ring gear for maximum traction, and activation works at any speed. Unlocked, it behaves like an ordinary open differential, so on-road drivability and driveline wear are not affected.
The design is two-piece with minimal moving parts and a patented locking mechanism that unlocks fast. A steel-reinforced, elastomer-bonded annular seal is built to handle extreme temperatures. The advantage on the trail is that you can drive slower and more controlled, which cuts the odds of vehicle damage.
