Rear Coil Perches and Retainers for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 (Pair)
The last fabrication step of a Jeep Wrangler TJ rear axle swap is getting the coil seats back where the factory put them — get it wrong and ride height, spring rate, and articulation all suffer. Artec's Rear TJ Coil Perches and Retainers are built to reference the company's modular rear trusses, dropping the spring seats into the stock TJ location without a tape measure. The 1/4" steel perches clock to any angle before welding so the coils seat square on lifted rigs, the retainers keep the springs captured at droop, and a guide is provided if you want an optional 1" forward stretch.
Features
- Locates rear coils in the factory TJ position when paired with an Artec modular truss
- CNC laser-cut and bent from 1/4" steel
- Clockable to any angle to match spring angle on lifted setups
- Spring retainers capture the coils through full droop
- Guide provided for an optional 1" forward wheelbase stretch
- Kit covers both sides: perches, tubing spacers, flat tube caps, retainers, and 1/2" hardware
- Made in the USA
Offered for 3.0" and 3.5" axle tubes — measure the bare tube OD on your swap housing before ordering. These weld to the axle, so plan the install around clean fit-up and finish welding, then paint the bare steel. They pair with Artec modular trusses like the Ford 8.8 modular truss and 14-bolt modular truss; JK owners want the JK version. See the full coil springs collection for the rest of the spring hardware.

Rear Coil Perches and Retainers for Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 (Pair) FAQs
Do I need an Artec truss to use these perches?
They are designed to reference Artec modular rear trusses — the truss is what locates the perch geometry in the stock TJ spring position without measuring. If you are running a different truss or a bare housing, the perches still weld on, but you lose the measure-free indexing and will need to locate them yourself.
How do I know whether to order 3.0" or 3.5"?
Measure the outside diameter of the axle tubes on the housing going under the Jeep. Common swap axles run either 3.0" or 3.5" tubes, and the perch saddle must match for a proper weld fit. Measure a clean section of bare tube away from brackets and welds.
Is welding required, and what about finishing?
Yes — the perches, caps, and retainer components all weld to the axle tube, so plan on competent welding. Clock each perch to your lift's spring angle before final welds, and paint the bare steel afterward to keep rust off. Re-torque the suspension hardware after the first shakedown run.
