Verify your build year against the 2018-2020 window before ordering — a 2021-or-newer 3.6L 2-door takes the JL 3.6L 2021+ package instead, and 2.0L turbo 2-doors use the JL 2.0L package. My Jeep is a 2020 3.6L two-door — is this the right version?
Yes. This package covers the 2-door Jeep Wrangler JL with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 from 2018 through 2020. Jeep changed underbody details on later builds, so 2021-and-up trucks use a different Artec package with revised cutouts — ordering by build year is what makes the plates line up.
How does the install go?
Entirely with bolts. The 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets attach to factory hardpoints, the aluminum plates fasten with countersunk bolts cut to OEM thread pitch, and both bonus skids bolt on too. There is no welding or drilling anywhere in the job, and hand tools cover it.
Is aluminum tough enough for rock crawling?
The 1/4" 6061-T6 plate is heat-treated specifically for impact strength, and it rides on rigid zinc-plated steel brackets. You get protection that shrugs off rock contact at a fraction of the weight a full steel belly would add — weight that matters on a short-wheelbase 2-door.
