Why does the model year matter for a 3.6L Wrangler?
Jeep revised exhaust routing and underbody details on the 3.6L over the JL's production run, and Artec cuts each bellypan's clearances and oil door to a specific engine and year range. This package fits the 2-door 3.6L Pentastar from 2021 up — a 2018-2020 truck needs the earlier version for the plates to line up.
Is any welding required to install the package?
None. The bellypan hangs from 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets that bolt to factory hardpoints using countersunk bolts in OEM thread pitch, and the front CAD skid and rear LCA skids are bolt-on parts as well. Most owners knock the install out in an afternoon with hand tools.
