The 1/4" steel bridge spans between the two components, a weld-on flange ties it into the truss, and grade 8 hardware bolts the assembly together. It is the missing link for builders who installed a truss first and decided on hydraulic steering later.

Do I need an Artec truss and ram mount for this to work?
Yes on both counts. The kit is dimensioned for Artec's Dana 60 front trusses and Artec 60 ram mounts, and it works with all of them. It is a connector, not a standalone mount — if you are starting from a bare axle, look at the DIY Ram Mount or one of the housing-specific full hydro ram mounts instead.
What exactly comes in the kit?
You get the standard bridge section, a weld-on truss flange, and seven grade 8 bolts with matching nuts. The flange welds to your existing truss and the bridge bolts between the flange and the ram mount, tying the two structures together.
How difficult is the install?
It is one of the easier jobs in a full-hydro build — weld the flange to the truss, then bolt up the bridge with the supplied hardware. You still need real welding and fabrication skills for the flange, and the bare steel parts should be primed and painted once everything fits.
