JLU 3.6L Pre-2018 Protection Package: Bellypan, Axle Skids & Free Hat for Jeep Wrangler
This package covers the soft underside of an early-production (pre-2018 build) 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JLU with the 3.6L Pentastar: Artec Industries' full-length aluminum bellypan plus free front and rear axle skids, a free Artec hat, and a $100 instant rebate over buying the pieces separately. The bellypan is 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum on 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets, shielding the oil pan, transmission, and transfer case behind one smooth surface that slides over rock instead of snagging on it. A hinged oil-access door means oil changes happen without dropping a single plate.
Features
- Full-length bellypan in 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum
- 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets tie into factory mounting points
- Hinged oil-access door — service the engine oil with the skid in place
- Smooth, flat belly slides over obstacles and gains clearance versus the stamped OEM skids
- Countersunk bolts match OEM thread pitch for a no-weld, bolt-on install
- Free bolt-on front and rear axle skids shield the diffs and axle-side mounts
- Free Artec hat and $100 instant rebate included
Built specifically for the 4-door JLU with the 3.6L engine in early, pre-2018 production — Artec cuts the oil door and exhaust clearance per engine and year, so match your build date and engine before ordering. The bellypan sells alone as the JLU full bellypan (pre-2018, 3.6L); add rear LCA skids to finish the axle-level armor, or browse the complete Artec Industries lineup.

JLU 3.6L Pre-2018 Protection Package: Bellypan, Axle Skids & Free Hat for Jeep Wrangler FAQs
How do I know if my JLU is a pre-2018 build?
This version fits early-production 4-door JLU Wranglers with the 3.6L Pentastar built before 2018 — check the production date on your door jamb sticker. Artec cuts the oil-access door and exhaust clearances differently for later builds and other engines, so matching the build date and engine matters.
Do I need to weld anything to install the package?
No. The bellypan and both axle skids are bolt-on, using countersunk bolts that match the OEM thread pitch and 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets at factory mounting points. Hand tools and a way to support the plates during fit-up are all that is required.
What does the hinged oil door actually save me?
On a one-piece bellypan, a routine oil change would otherwise mean unbolting and dropping a large plate. The hinged access door opens over the drain and filter area, so oil services take no longer than on an unarmored Jeep. The aluminum itself needs no paint or upkeep.
