Which variant do I need for my knuckles?
Match the kit to your knuckle casting: HS6080 fits OEM Ford knuckles, HS6082 fits OEM Dodge knuckles, and HS6081 covers Reid, Solid, and Crane aftermarket knuckles plus OEM Chevy. Note that the Ford and Dodge kits are for factory castings only — they do not fit aftermarket knuckles.
Does this kit replace high steer arms?
No — it is knuckle hardware designed to complement Artec’s Ultimate 60 High Steer Arms. The Grade 8 bolt, lock nut, and DOM sleeve reinforce the knuckle and add the double-shear tie rod provision; the arms themselves are a separate purchase.
How does the double-shear tie rod mount work?
The 1.25" OD x 0.250" wall DOM sleeve is machined on both ends to accept a 3/4" heim, so the tie rod end is captured on two sides instead of hanging off a single stud. Loading the joint in double shear resists the bending forces that fold single-shear steering on big tires.
