The Elite HID system for the 2014-2018 Silverado pairs Morimoto XB 2.0 ballasts, offered in 35W and 50W versions, with aligned XB H11 bulbs. The bulbs use Philips quartz glass and quality halide salts, and Morimoto describes the output as a 5500K white. The kit carries a five-year warranty.
Power runs 35 to 55W at 4.4A on a 14.0V supply, and the system is rated from -40C to 125C. Color ratings are listed at 3000K golden amber, 4000K OEM warm white, 5000K ice white and 6000K neutral white. The 55W ballasts give roughly 20 percent more lumens and about 1000K lower color temperature, by Morimoto's estimate. Rated life is 2,500 hours, or about 3-5 years. An anti-flicker single beam harness is included for plug-and-play wiring.
Because the kit is built around an H11 base, it is meant for trucks that already use H11 bulbs. The four color ratings let you choose between a warm golden amber and a cooler neutral white, depending on how close to a stock HID look you want.
