About ROAMBUILT

ROAMBUILT makes roof racks, bumpers, ladders, side steps, skid plates and storage for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, built in Springdale, Arkansas with an emphasis on careful welding and fit. Everything wears a textured black powder coat.

Backwoods Adventure Mods acquired ROAMBUILT in April 2024. The van products stayed under the ROAMBUILT name, and the Toyota side was split off.

What we carry from ROAMBUILT

Flatpack, Safari Rack 2.0 and Safari 2.0 SLB roof racks and extra extrusions; Full Guard and Low-Pro front bumpers and rear bumpers; Flatpack, Chicane and Straight side ladders; tube and flat side steps; an engine skid plate and frame brackets; and rear and driver-side tire carriers.

Storage includes the Trail Box with 5" and 8" drawer systems and a universal aluminum storage box, plus a 50" LED light bar and a MOLLE side panel for RotopaX. Browse more van gear in our adventure van section.

How to choose

Know your van's generation, drivetrain and wheel count before you order.

  • Most bumpers, racks and steps are for 2019+ VS30 Sprinters. Some parts cover only 2019–2024 or 2025+, and ladders go back to 2007.
  • 2WD and 3500 dually vans may need a separate frame bracket kit.
  • Some front bumpers need parking sensors recalibrated or a resistor for a fog-light warning; some rear bumpers need the exhaust trimmed.
  • Short flat side steps also fit Ford Transit cab-and-chassis trucks.

ROAMBUILT covers the structure of its racks, ladders and tire carriers for life against defects in material and craftsmanship, and the powder coat for 60 days.
