Toyota Tacoma 3rd Gen A-Arm Skids

$299.99

Lower A-arms take the first hit on a 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma — they lead the tires into every rock, rut, and ledge, and the factory leaves them bare. These Artec A-Arm Skids bolt directly to the OEM lower control arms, wrapping them in one-piece 1/4" aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum that's been formed on custom dies and TIG welded. The contoured shape follows the arm so you give up no ground clearance, countersunk bolts keep the underside smooth, and the pair adds only about 7 pounds of unsprung weight — a design proven in Ultra4 racing and rock crawling.

Features

  • 1/4" aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum — a tougher alloy than the 5052 many competitors use
  • One-piece construction formed on custom dies, then TIG welded for strength
  • Bolts directly to the factory lower A-arms — no aftermarket arms required
  • Contoured profile protects without sacrificing ground clearance
  • Countersunk bolts leave a smooth face that slides off rock
  • Adds only about 7 lbs of unsprung weight for the pair
  • Designed from factory CAD files for a precise fit
  • Lifetime warranty against weld failure, cracking, or bending

Fits the 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma, 2016-2023, bolting to the stock lower A-arms; if your truck runs the OEM TRD skid plates, a minor bit of trimming is needed for clearance. They're the front line of Artec's Tacoma armor — add the Tacoma 3G Bellypan and Fuel Tank Skid, or get all three in the Tacoma Full Skid Plate System. More underbody protection lives in our skid plates collection.

Toyota Tacoma 3rd Gen A-Arm Skids FAQs

Which Tacoma do these fit, and do I need aftermarket arms?

They fit the 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma, 2016-2023, and bolt directly to the factory lower A-arms — no aftermarket control arms required. They were designed from factory CAD files, so fitment on stock arms is precise.

Do I need to trim anything to install them?

Only if your truck has the OEM TRD skid plates — those need a minor bit of trimming for clearance around the A-arm skids. Without the TRD skids, they bolt straight on with the included countersunk hardware.

Won't adding weight to the A-arms hurt my suspension?

Not meaningfully. The pair adds only about 7 lbs of unsprung weight because the skids are 1/4" 6061 aluminum rather than steel. That's the point of the material choice: real armor on the arms without the handling and ride penalty a steel plate would bring.
