Front Frame Gussets for Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen 2010-2024
The factory front frame plates on the 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner are thin, and they flex — a real problem once you hang a heavy winch bumper off them and start using it as a recovery point. These Artec Front Frame Gussets (TY7004) brace that area so the frame horns can actually take a hard pull. Artec designed them from 3D metrology-grade laser scans of the Toyota frame, so they nest against the factory plates precisely. If a front bumper and winch are in your build plan, this is the cheap insurance that should go on first.

Front Frame Gussets for Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen 2010-2024 FAQs
Why does my 4Runner need frame gussets?
The 5th Gen 4Runner’s factory front frame plates are relatively thin and can deform under winching or recovery loads. These gussets brace that area so an aftermarket bumper bolted to the frame horns can be used as a legitimate recovery point. If you plan to run a winch, install them first.
Are these weld-on or bolt-on?
They install with the included mounting hardware as a bolt-on reinforcement of the factory plates — no welding is required. Follow Artec’s install guidance for your specific bumper combination, since they are designed to work under a bolted-on front bumper.
Will they rust under the truck?
They are zinc plated specifically to resist corrosion, which holds up well in the underbody environment. Unlike bare-steel parts, they do not need paint before installation, though you can top-coat them to match your build if you want.
