Reinforced recovery points are built in, the factory hitch receiver stays fully usable, and installation is a straight bolt-on job with no drilling. Instead of arriving raw, it comes finished in textured black powder coat laid over a zinc primer, so corrosion resistance is handled before the box is opened. What is different about this version of the Sentinel Rear Bumper?
The bumper itself is identical to the bare-steel Sentinel — 3/16" steel, high-clearance shape, reinforced recovery points, factory hitch retained. This version simply ships finished in textured black powder coat over a zinc primer, so it is protected against corrosion and ready to install out of the box.
Does installation require drilling or welding?
No. The Sentinel bolts to the Jeep Wrangler JL's factory frame points with no drilling and no welding. Remove the factory rear bumper, bolt this one on with the supplied hardware, and the job is done with common hand tools.
Do I keep my factory hitch and recovery options?
Yes on both counts. The bumper is designed around factory hitch/receiver compatibility, so towing capability carries over unchanged. It also adds reinforced recovery points of its own, giving you proper rated attachment spots for straps and shackles instead of relying on the hitch alone.
