High Clearance Comp Rear Bumper Center Skid for Jeep Gladiator JT 2020+
The Comp Rear Bumper Center Skid is a replaceable aluminum bash plate that bolts to the center section of Artec Industries' Bantam Series high-clearance rear bumper on the Jeep Gladiator JT. High-clearance bumpers still drag on ledges and rock shelves — that is what they are for — and this skid makes sure the grinding happens on swappable high-strength aluminum instead of your powder-coated steel. Made in the USA and fully bolt-on, it keeps the main bumper looking and working like new no matter how many times you slide the tail over an obstacle.
Features
- High-strength aluminum sacrificial layer — impacts land on the skid, not the bumper
- Bolts directly to the Bantam center section; no drilling or fabrication
- Fully replaceable: unbolt the worn skid and install a fresh one
- Lightweight aluminum adds protection without meaningful weight gain
- Laser-cut and formed in the USA for a repeatable, precise fit
Fits the center section of the Bantam high-clearance rear bumper on the Jeep Gladiator JT (2020+). This is an accessory skid, not a standalone part — you need the High Clearance Rear Bumper Center Section installed for it to bolt to. Cover the outer corners the same way with the corner pod skids, and browse the full rear bumpers lineup for the rest of the system.
High Clearance Comp Rear Bumper Center Skid for Jeep Gladiator JT 2020+ FAQs
Does this skid fit my Gladiator on its own?
No. It is a bolt-on accessory for the center section of Artec's Bantam Series high-clearance rear bumper on the Jeep Gladiator JT (2020-present). You need that center section — or the complete comp rear bumper — installed first; the skid then bolts to its existing mounting points.
Why is the skid aluminum instead of steel?
Because it is meant to be sacrificial. High-strength aluminum sheds impacts and slides over rock while keeping weight down, and since the skid is inexpensive and bolt-on, you replace it when it is chewed up rather than repairing or refinishing the steel bumper behind it.
Is any drilling or welding needed to install it?
No. The skid bolts to existing mounting points on the center section using the supplied hardware, and it comes off just as easily when it is time for a fresh one. The whole job takes basic hand tools.
