Apex Front Axle Truss for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018+ and Gladiator JT 2020+
The JL-JT Apex Front Axle Truss carries Artec's peaked-top Apex design over to the front axle of the 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL and 2020+ Gladiator JT. The M186 and M210 housings under these Jeeps share the older JK's appetite for bending under big tires, and the factory front axle disconnect adds another soft spot in the middle of the assembly. This truss runs end to end across the housing, bridging and strengthening the FAD area while contouring tightly around the cast differential. Laser cut from 1/8" mild steel and pre-bent, it adds only about 6 lbs to the axle.
Features
- Peaked Apex cross-section delivers more rigidity than any flat-top truss
- Laser cut from 1/8" mild steel and CNC pre-bent, about 6 lbs
- Drops in place on the housing ready to weld, no assembling small plates
- Bridges the front axle disconnect (FAD) to reinforce its weak center section
- Dimpled holes keep weight down without sacrificing strength
- Shaped from Dana and Jeep 3D models for clearance with surrounding components
- Made in the USA, with about 70% less welding than previous truss designs
Three versions cover the platform: JL4507 fits the newer 05-casting Dana 44 M210 Rubicon axle and all JT front axles, JL4501 fits the earlier M210 Rubicon axle and all JT fronts, and JL3101 fits the Dana 30 M186 under Sport and Sahara JLs, so confirm your differential casting before ordering. Like all Artec trusses it is a weld-on part; preheat the casting to around 400 degrees, let the axle cool over 18-24 hours, and leave the work to someone experienced with cast-to-plate welds. Pair it with the JL-JT Inner C Gussets to finish the knuckle end of the housing, or see the JK Apex Front Axle Truss for 2007-2018 Wranglers. More options live in axle reinforcements, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Gladiator.
Apex Front Axle Truss for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018+ and Gladiator JT 2020+ FAQs
Which SKU matches my axle?
JL4507 fits the newer 05-casting Dana 44 M210 Rubicon front axle and all Gladiator JT front axles; JL4501 fits the earlier M210 Rubicon casting and all JT fronts; JL3101 fits the Dana 30 M186 under Sport and Sahara JLs. Check the casting on your differential housing before ordering — Rubicon and non-Rubicon axles differ, and JL castings changed during the production run.
Does the truss clear the front axle disconnect?
Yes. The truss is contoured from Dana and Jeep 3D models to fit around both the cast differential and the FAD, and it bridges the disconnect area, one of the weakest points of the JL and JT front axle. No modification to the disconnect is required.
What does installation involve?
This is a weld-on truss, so experienced or professional welding is required, and Artec recommends removing the axle from the vehicle for best results. Preheat the casting to about 400 degrees before welding and let the axle cool slowly over 18-24 hours. The pre-bent design drops onto the housing and needs about 70% less welding than earlier trusses.
