Dana 44 Front Axle Truss for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018
This is Artec's original JK Front Axle Truss, a low-profile weld-on brace for the front Dana 44 under 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU models, offered here as a limited closeout. The factory JK housing was never meant for 37s, lockers, and hard landings — the tubes twist and bend long before the gears give up. This truss ties the long side, short side, and center section into one rigid structure using 1/4" and 10-gauge steel with interlocked gussets, and its slim profile stays clear of steering, links, and the oil pan even on Jeeps with as little as 2 inches of lift.
Features
- 1/4" and 10-gauge (.130") mild steel construction
- Spans both the long and short side of the housing for full-width support
- Interlocked 10-gauge gussets self-locate for easier tack-up and maximum rigidity
- Low-profile top plate clears surrounding components, workable with lifts as low as 2"
- Precision CNC cut and formed for tight fitment on the JK Dana 44
- Original Artec design at closeout pricing while stock lasts
Confirm you have the JK front Dana 44 before ordering — this listing is the 44-axle version. Installation is weld-on and best done with the axle stripped on a bench; builders commonly preheat the cast center section to around 400 degrees before welding, and the bare steel needs paint or powder coat when finished. Round out the housing with the JK Inner C Gussets down at the knuckles, see more bracing options in axle reinforcements, or browse everything for the Jeep Wrangler.
Dana 44 Front Axle Truss for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018 FAQs
Which JKs and axles does this truss fit?
It fits the front Dana 44 housing under 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU models — this listing is the 44-axle version. Artec designed it to work even on modest builds, with clearance for lifts as low as 2". Verify which front axle your JK has before ordering, since Sport models carried a Dana 30.
Why is this truss a closeout?
It is Artec's original JK front truss design, since superseded by their current APEX truss line. The part is fully functional and was a top seller for years — it is simply the earlier generation, so remaining stock is offered at a discount and quantities are limited.
What does installation involve?
This is a weld-on structural part. The interlocked pieces tack together on the housing, and the job is best done with the axle stripped and set up on a bench; builders commonly preheat the cast center section to around 400 degrees before welding to protect it. Plan for paint or powder coat afterward, since the truss ships as bare steel.
