The Sterling 10.25 Rear Short Truss reinforces the Ford Sterling 10.25 rear axle while staying low and narrow enough to disappear under almost any swap build. A 3/8" mild steel top plate ties the housing together and doubles as a flat mounting surface for upper links, with the link geometry landing about 9" from the axle centerline. Because the truss is short and slim, it fits between leaf springs on a leaf-sprung truck just as happily as it anchors a linked suspension. It's made for builders putting the stout Sterling under trail rigs and tow pigs that beat housings out of shape.
Features
- 3/8" mild steel truss top for maximum strength
- 1/4" mild steel ram mount and interlocked gussets
- Precision CNC cut and bent for accurate fit-up
- Upper link joints mount with ideal geometry, about 9" from the axle centerline
- Narrow enough to fit between leaf springs or serve as a link-suspension base
- Designed for centered-differential Sterling 10.25 axles; accommodates 7-20 degree pinion angles
- Minor trimming adapts it to Sterling 9.75" and 10.5" axles
This is a weld-on truss, so professional welding is required for the reinforcement to do its job. Confirm your differential is centered and your pinion angle falls in the 7-20 degree window before burning it in; a full-length alternative is available as the Sterling 10.25 Rear Truss. Set your link geometry with the Tall Adjustable Truss Upper Link Mount, keep a Sterling-swapped JK's electronics happy with the JK 1 Ton Sterling ABS Kit, and browse the rest of our axle reinforcements.

Sterling 10.25 Rear Short Truss FAQs
Which Sterling axles does this truss fit?
It is designed for the Ford Sterling 10.25 rear axle with a centered differential, and it accommodates pinion angles from 7 to 20 degrees. With minor trimming it also fits Sterling 9.75" and 10.5" axles, which makes it usable across most Super Duty donor housings. Check your diff position and pinion angle before welding.
Will it clear my leaf springs?
Yes — the short truss is deliberately narrow and low so it fits between the leaf springs on a leaf-sprung build. If you are going linked instead, the same flat 3/8" top serves as the base for upper link mounts about 9" from the axle centerline. It packages far more easily than a full-length truss on tight builds.
Is welding required to install it?
Yes. This is a weld-on reinforcement and it should be installed by a professional or highly experienced welder so the truss actually ties the housing together. Stitch welding with attention to heat control protects the housing from warping, and the bare steel should be primed and painted once welding is finished.
