Rocker panels are one of the first places a Gladiator gets chewed up on the trail, and a plain rock slider does not always cover the sheet metal between the fender flares. This rocker guard is a vehicle-specific panel that follows the shape of the JT body and covers the rocker from the front fender flare to the rear one. RCI cuts each piece with a CNC laser and forms it on a brake, which is how it gets the tight, high-clearance fit it is designed for.
The guards are made from 1/8 inch 5052 aluminum. You can order them in raw aluminum, or with a multi-stage textured black powder coat that RCI says is meant to resist rust, corrosion and trail abrasion and to sit well alongside popular aftermarket bumpers and accessories. Aluminum is lighter than a steel panel of the same size, though it is not the choice if you plan to use it as a pry point.
