Jam Nut 7/8"-14 TPI

$2.74

The 7/8"-14 jam nut is the two-dollar part that protects a whole steering or link setup. Threaded onto a 7/8" fine-thread rod end and snugged hard against the tube adapter, it locks the joint so a tie rod, drag link, or upper link cannot rotate under load and quietly change your alignment. Zinc-plated against corrosion and offered in both right-hand and left-hand thread, it covers either end of an adjustable assembly built with 7/8"-14 joints.

Features

  • Fits 7/8" rod ends with 14 TPI fine thread
  • Zinc plated for corrosion resistance on exposed steering and link hardware
  • Locks the rod end against the tube adapter to prevent spinning
  • Left-hand (reverse, HW0022) and right-hand (standard, HW0021) options
  • Fine pitch allows precise toe and link-length settings before lockdown
  • The finishing piece for DIY tie rods, drag links, and link arms

This is universal hardware for any build using 7/8"-14 rod ends — match the nut's hand to the thread direction of each rod end, since an adjustable bar typically runs one right-hand and one left-hand joint. It jams directly against the 7/8"-14 TPI Tube Adapter; builds with other joint sizes use the 3/4"-16 TPI or 1.25"-12 TPI jam nuts. Browse more in suspension components.

Jam Nut 7/8"-14 TPI FAQs

Why does a tie rod or link need jam nuts?

After you set length and alignment, the jam nut tightens against the tube adapter and clamps the rod end threads so the joint cannot rotate. Skip it and steering loads and vibration will walk the adjustment, changing toe or link length on the trail.

How do I pick left-hand versus right-hand?

Match each nut to the thread direction of the rod end and tube adapter on that end. An adjustable bar normally uses one right-hand and one left-hand joint so it can be turned to length without disconnecting, which means you need one nut of each hand.

What parts does this work with?

Any 7/8"-14 fine-thread rod end or heim joint, including those in Artec steering and link kits, jammed against Artec's 7/8"-14 tube adapter. For 3/4" or 1.25" joints, use the matching 3/4"-16 or 1.25"-12 jam nuts instead.
