Jam Nut 1.25"-12 TPI

$5.49

A big rod end without a jam nut behind it is a link waiting to change length. This zinc-plated steel jam nut fits 1.25"-12 TPI fine-thread rod ends — the size found on heavy lower links, one-ton control arms, and Artec's aluminum link kits. Threaded onto the rod end and tightened against the tube adapter, it locks the joint so constant load reversal and trail vibration cannot back the adjustment out. Both right-hand and left-hand versions are offered so each end of a turnbuckle-style adjustable link gets the correct nut.

Features

  • Fits 1.25" rod ends with 12 TPI fine thread
  • Zinc-plated steel resists corrosion on exposed link hardware
  • Locks the rod end against the threaded tube adapter to stop it spinning
  • Available in right-hand (standard) and left-hand (reverse) thread
  • Fine-thread pitch allows precise link-length adjustment before lockdown
  • Keeps adjustable links at their set length on the trail

This is universal hardware for any link built with 1.25"-12 rod ends — order the nut hand to match each rod end, since an adjustable link typically runs one right-hand and one left-hand joint. It threads against the 1.25"-12 TPI Tube Adapter, and smaller builds are covered by the 7/8"-14 TPI and 3/4"-16 TPI jam nuts. Find the rest in suspension components.

Jam Nut 1.25"-12 TPI FAQs

What does a jam nut actually do on a suspension link?

Once you set the link length, the jam nut threads down the rod end shank and tightens against the tube adapter, clamping the threads so the joint cannot rotate. Without it, articulation and vibration will slowly change your link length and alignment on the trail.

Do I need a left-hand or right-hand nut?

Match the nut to each rod end's thread direction. A turnbuckle-style adjustable link runs one right-hand and one left-hand rod end so the tube adjusts length without unthreading either joint — that build needs one of each hand.

What other parts pair with this jam nut?

It works with 1.25"-12 TPI rod ends and Artec's 1.25"-12 TPI Tube Adapter, which welds into 1.5" ID / 2.0" OD link tube. For 7/8" or 3/4" rod ends, use Artec's 7/8"-14 or 3/4"-16 jam nuts instead.
