Flat Shock Tabs are Artec's straightforward weld-on solution for putting a shock mount exactly where a custom axle or chassis needs one. Each pair is CNC laser-cut from 1/4" steel with a 1/2" hole for standard shock hardware, and three lengths — Short at 1.125", Medium at 1.625", and Long at 2.125" from hole center to base — let you set the shock eye height your geometry calls for. A tapered lower half spreads the weld over more surface, and the pair builds a proper double-shear mount spaced 1.25" apart.
Features
- CNC laser-cut from 1/4" steel for a strong double-shear shock mount
- 1/2" hole fits standard shock mounting hardware
- Three lengths: Short 1.125", Medium 1.625", Long 2.125" (hole center to base)
- Tabs intended to be mounted 1.25" apart for common shock eyelets
- Tapered lower half increases weld surface area
- Sold in pairs; bare steel with Artec's distinctive profile
These are universal weld-on tabs for Jeep, Toyota, or scratch-built rigs — not a vehicle-specific bolt-on — and they need paint or powder coat after welding. Check your shock eyelet width against the 1.25" tab spacing and pick the length that puts the shock eye where your travel numbers require. Bolt everything up with the Shock Hardware Assembly, use the Multi-Purpose Tabs where links and rod ends also need mounting, or browse shock mounts and brackets for bracket-style options.
Flat Shock Tabs (Pair) FAQs
How do I choose between Short, Medium, and Long?
The lengths measure 1.125", 1.625", and 2.125" from the hole center to the flat base. Mock up your shock at ride height and full compression, then pick the tab length that places the shock eye where your geometry needs it with clearance to the tube or frame. Grinding during mock-up may be needed for a flush fit.
What shock hardware fits these tabs?
The 1/2" hole fits standard shock mounting bolts, and the tabs are intended to be mounted 1.25" apart to capture a common shock eyelet in double shear. Artec's Shock Hardware Assembly supplies matching bolts, nuts, and sleeves for two shocks.
Do they need welding and finishing?
Yes. These are weld-on tabs — strip paint and oils from the weld zone, tack, verify alignment through suspension cycling, then finish weld. They ship bare steel, so paint or powder coat the finished mount to keep rust off.
