Shocks & Dampers

Coilover kits, shock absorbers, shock mounts and replacement parts for trucks, Jeeps and SUVs, mostly from ICON Vehicle Dynamics with Teraflex, Rago Fabrication and others. Coilovers and shocks are sized to a lift range and axle position, so check front or rear, lift height and reservoir type against your setup.

What's in Shocks & Dampers

This collection covers shock absorbers, coilover kits, shock mounts and brackets, and the parts and tools that service them. Most of it is from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, with ReadyLIFT, Teraflex, Rago Fabrication, Clayton Off Road, Artec Industries and Dobinsons filling in the rest. Fitment ranges from specific trucks, such as Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Super Duty and Ram, to universal-fit pieces.

How to choose shocks

Shocks are matched to a vehicle, an axle position and a lift range. A front shock for a 0 to 3.5 inch lift is a different part from a rear shock for 0 to 1.5 inches, so read the full title, not just the vehicle name.

Before you order, check these:

  • Front or rear, and driver or passenger side where the shock is not sold as a pair.
  • Lift height the shock is built for, since extended travel needs a longer shock body.
  • Reservoir type: internal, piggyback or remote. Larger reservoirs add cooling capacity, and they need room to mount.
  • Whether your truck is 2WD or 4WD, and your model year range.

A shock is only one part of a suspension. If you are lifting, pair it with a lift kit sized to the same height, and look at coilover kits when the front suspension is a coilover design. The shock absorbers collection narrows the list to dampers alone.

Shipping, lead times and warranty

Stocked items go out in 24 to 48 hours. If a brand builds to order, the current lead times page shows what to expect. Warranty coverage comes from the brand, not from us; start with the vendor warranty policies, or go straight to the ICON warranty page. For a second opinion before you order, call (920) 249-7744.

Shocks & Dampers FAQs

What is the difference between a shock absorber and a coilover?

A shock absorber is a damper that works alongside a separate spring. A coilover combines the damper and the coil spring in a single unit, common on the front end of many independent-suspension trucks. Replacing a coilover swaps both the spring and the damper.

Do I need new shocks after installing a lift kit?

Usually yes. A lift changes the distance the shock must span, and factory shocks may run out of travel. Choose shocks rated for your lift height and axle position.

What do internal, piggyback and remote reservoir shocks mean?

The reservoir holds extra damping fluid and gas. Internal reservoir shocks keep it inside the body, while piggyback and remote designs add an external reservoir for more fluid capacity. Remote reservoirs are mounted away from the shock and need space and a mounting spot.

Are front and rear shocks the same part?

No. Front and rear shocks differ in length, valving and mounting, and the lift height changes the part again. Make sure the listing names the correct axle position.

Will these shocks fit my Tacoma, Tundra or Ram?

Many listings here are specific to those trucks and sorted by year range. Use the vehicle selector to filter to your truck, then confirm year, lift range and drivetrain in the title. If nothing matches cleanly, call before you buy.
