DOM Steel Tube 1.5" OD x 0.250" Wall - 4 Foot Length

$109.99

This is 1.5" outer-diameter, 0.250" wall DOM (drawn-over-mandrel) steel tubing, cut to a manageable four-foot length for link, steering, and general chassis fabrication. DOM tube is cold-drawn over a mandrel after welding, which gives it tighter tolerances, uniform wall thickness, and better strength than plain welded tube — the reason it is the default material for suspension links and tie rods. The heavy quarter-inch wall leaves a 1.0" inner diameter that matches common threaded tube adapters.

Features

  • 1.5" OD with a heavy 0.250" wall for load-bearing links
  • DOM seamless construction for consistent dimensions and clean welds
  • 1.0" inner diameter accepts standard 1.0" ID threaded tube adapters
  • Supplied in 4-foot lengths that ship easily and cut to size
  • Made in the USA

This is universal raw stock, not a vehicle-specific part — order the quantity your build needs and cut to final length during fabrication. It pairs with Artec threaded adapters sized for 1.0" ID / 1.5" OD tube, such as the 3/4"-16 and 7/8"-14 sizes, to build custom links and steering. Need more meat for lower links or bigger rod ends? Step up to the 2.0" OD x 0.250" wall DOM tube, keep the Artec laser-cut multi-tool handy for the jam nuts, and find the rest of the raw goods in the Artec Industries lineup.

DOM Steel Tube 1.5" OD x 0.250" Wall FAQs

Why use DOM instead of regular welded tube?

DOM stands for drawn-over-mandrel: the tube is cold-drawn over a mandrel after welding, which tightens tolerances, evens out the wall, and improves strength. For structural parts like suspension links and tie rods, that consistency and predictable weld penetration are worth it.

Which threaded tube adapters fit this size?

With a 1.5" OD and 0.250" wall, the inner diameter works out to 1.0", so it accepts adapters made for 1.0" ID / 1.5" OD tube. That includes Artec's 3/4"-16 and 7/8"-14 threaded adapters used for rod ends and steering joints.

How is it sold and how long is each piece?

Each piece is cut to 4 feet (48") — order the quantity your build needs and trim to final length during fabrication. It ships as bare steel, so plan to paint or coat finished links once welding is done.
