Manual Transmission Nutstrip for Jeep Wrangler JK Bellypan 2012-2018
Artec's JK bellypan was designed around the automatic transmission, and on a manual-trans Jeep the mounting in the transmission and crossmember area simply doesn't line up. This nutstrip is the fix: a clear-zinc-plated strip with press nuts that adapts the Artec JK1010 or JK1020 bellypan to a 2012-and-up Wrangler JK or JKU with a manual gearbox. During install, the transfer case studs pass through the bracket holes and the nutstrip provides the correct threaded points, so the skid bolts up as cleanly as it would behind an automatic.
Features
- Adapts the Artec JK1010 or JK1020 bellypan to manual-transmission JKs
- Press nuts positioned to work with the transfer case studs
- Provides correct threaded mounting points where the automatic layout doesn't line up
- Clear zinc plating resists corrosion under the Jeep
- Simple install — one minor modification to the existing JK1010-6 bracket
- Bolt-on hardware; no welding or fabrication
You only need this part if you're putting an Artec bellypan on a 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK or JKU with a manual transmission — automatics bolt up without it. During installation, remove the press nuts from the bellypan's JK1010-6 bracket that correspond to the press nuts in this strip, then fit the nutstrip in their place. Order it alongside the JK Under Armor Bellypan Kit it supports, and find the rest of our underbody armor in the skid plates collection or the full Artec Industries lineup.
Manual Transmission Nutstrip for Jeep Wrangler JK Bellypan 2012-2018 FAQs
Do I need this part for my bellypan install?
Only if you're installing an Artec JK1010 or JK1020 bellypan on a 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK or JKU with a manual transmission. Automatic-transmission Jeeps bolt the bellypan up without it, so skip this part if you shift for yourself with a torque converter.
Why does a manual transmission need different hardware?
The manual gearbox and its crossmember change the mounting layout in that section of the skid, so the bellypan's standard threaded points don't line up. This nutstrip adds press nuts in the correct locations and works with the transfer case studs so the pan mounts securely.
Do I have to modify the bellypan to use it?
Slightly. During installation you remove the press nuts from the bellypan's JK1010-6 bracket that correspond to the press nuts in this strip, then the nutstrip takes their place. It's a minor step with hand tools — no cutting or welding.
