Aluminum Rear Corner Armor for Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ 2004-2006
Rear corner armor for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ, cut from 3/16" aluminum and shaped to the longer LJ body. The rear corners are the first panels to get creased when a long-wheelbase Jeep pivots off a ledge or drags through a tight rocky exit, and the factory sheet metal there is thin. This armor bolts over the stock corners so the aluminum takes the hit instead, and it does the job at a fraction of the weight a steel corner guard would add up high on the body. It is a straightforward upgrade for any 2004-2006 LJ that sees rocks, trees, or trail pinstriping.
Features
- Formed from 3/16" aluminum for solid impact and abrasion resistance without steel's weight
- Bolt-on installation with basic hand tools, no welding required
- Tailored to the LJ's longer rear quarters and factory body contours
- Low-profile design hugs the panels instead of bulking them up
- Shields thin OEM sheet metal from rock rash, ledge strikes, and brush
- Aluminum will not rust, even after a hard scrape
- Made in the USA
This set fits the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ (2004-2006) only; the shorter-bodied TJ takes the TJ Standard Rear Corner Armor, or the TJ Blank Rear Corner Armor if the wheelbase has been stretched. It is sold as a pair with mounting hardware. Round out the body protection with the TJ/LJ Vented Inner Fenders or browse the full armor collection.
Aluminum Rear Corner Armor for Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ 2004-2006 FAQs
Will this fit a standard-length TJ?
No. These corners are shaped for the longer-wheelbase Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ, 2004-2006. A standard TJ needs the TJ Standard Rear Corner Armor with the factory-contoured wheel well, or the TJ Blank version if the rear axle has been moved. Confirm which body you have before ordering — the LJ has roughly 10" more wheelbase and longer rear quarters.
Do I need to weld or drill to install it?
No welding is required — this is a bolt-on kit with a tailored fit to the LJ rear corners, and it ships with mounting hardware. Basic hand tools handle the install. That keeps the job within reach of a driveway build and makes the panels serviceable later.
Why choose aluminum over steel corner armor?
The rear corners sit high on the body, which is the worst place to add weight on an off-road rig. 3/16" aluminum gives real protection against rock rash and brush at a fraction of steel's weight, and it will not rust if the surface gets gouged on the trail.
