Aluminum T-Case & Fuel Skid Kit for Jeep Wrangler JLU 3.6L Pre-2018 Tank
Jeep quietly revised the JLU's fuel tank and underbody during the model's first production year, which is why Artec Industries offers this Alpha Series kit (JL4192) in a dedicated early-production version. It armors the transfer case and fuel tank on 3.6L 4-door JLUs built with the original "pre-2018" tank configuration, using 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum plates that seat correctly against the earlier layout where the later kit will not. Same flat, no-overlap Alpha Series belly — just cut for the tank your Jeep actually has.

Before ordering, verify which tank your JLU carries — if it uses the later layout, the 2018+ JLU T-Case & Fuel Skid is the correct part, and this version fits only early 3.6L builds. Pair it with a matching JLU oil skid for the front of the belly, and see our skid plates collection and the full Artec Industries lineup for the rest of the build.
Aluminum T-Case & Fuel Skid Kit for Jeep Wrangler JLU 3.6L Pre-2018 Tank FAQs
How do I know if I need the pre-2018 version?
Jeep changed the JLU fuel tank and underbody during early production, so build date alone is not conclusive. Compare your tank shape and mounting against both listings — this kit fits the earlier configuration, while later trucks take the 2018+ kit. When in doubt, contact us before ordering.
Which engines does this version cover?
The 3.6L Pentastar 4-door JLU only. The 2.0L turbo and 392 arrived with the later underbody and are handled by the 2018+ T-Case & Fuel Skid kit.
Is welding required for the install?
No. The plates bolt to factory points on 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets using Artec's countersunk OEM-thread bolts. It installs with hand tools, and the same hardware makes it straightforward to remove for service.
