Oil Pan Skid with Oil Door for Jeep Wrangler JL 3.6L 2018-2020 (2 & 4 Door, Aluminum)
Early 3.6L Wrangler JLs carry a different oil-pan layout than later production, so Artec Industries builds this Alpha Series oil skid (SKU JL4181) specifically for 2018-2020 Pentastar trucks in both 2-door and 4-door form. The plate is 1/4" heat-treated aluminum shaped around the oil pan and transmission pan, the two components most likely to end a trail day if a rock finds them. An oil door in the skid opens for drain and filter service, and the whole thing bolts to factory points as the front module of Artec's no-overlap bellypan system.
Features
- Year-specific fit for the 2018-2020 3.6L underbody — seats flat, mounts line up
- 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum over the oil pan and transmission pan
- Oil door opens for oil changes without pulling the skid
- 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets shrug off road salt and mud
- Bolt-on install with Artec countersunk hardware in OEM thread sizes
- Developed from factory CAD data and 3D Creaform scans, CNC laser cut and formed
- Bare aluminum never rusts and needs no paint; made in the USA
Verify your build year before ordering: 2021-and-newer 3.6L Jeeps need the 2021+ oil skid, and 2.0L turbo owners use the 2.0L skid. To wrap the transfer case and fuel tank too, look at the 2018-2020 4-door full bellypan or shop the complete skid plate lineup.
Oil Pan Skid with Oil Door for Jeep Wrangler JL 3.6L 2018-2020 (2 & 4 Door, Aluminum) FAQs
Why does Artec make separate 2018-2020 and 2021+ versions of this skid?
Jeep changed the 3.6L oil-pan and underbody layout after the 2020 model year, so one plate cannot fit both runs correctly. This version is shaped for 2018, 2019, and 2020 Pentastar Wranglers. If your Jeep is a 2021 or newer, order the 2021+ skid instead so the oil door and mounts land where they should.
Does it cover both the oil pan and the transmission pan?
Yes. The skid runs under both the engine oil pan and the transmission pan, which sit exposed at the front of the belly. It is the front module of Artec's modular system, so the transfer case and fuel tank can be armored later with matching no-overlap skids.
How hard is the install, and can I still do my own oil changes?
It is a straightforward bolt-on: 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets attach to factory points and Artec's countersunk bolts match OEM thread, so no welding or drilling is needed. Once mounted, the removable oil door opens for drain-plug and filter access, so oil changes proceed exactly as before.
