Exhaust Skid for Jeep Wrangler JLU 3.6L, 2.0L & 392 (4 Door, Aluminum)
The exhaust is one of the lowest, softest targets under a 4-door Wrangler JLU, and a crushed pipe ends a trip as surely as a holed pan. This Artec Industries Alpha Series exhaust skid (SKU JL4118) wraps that vulnerable run in 1/4" heat-treated aluminum so rocks slide past instead of crimping it shut. Artec specifies it for the 2018-and-newer 4-door JLU with the 3.6L or 2.0L in non-eTorque form, and it ties into the same modular, no-overlap bellypan system as the oil, transfer case, and fuel tank skids.
Features
- 1/4" 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminum shields the low-hanging exhaust section
- 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets bolt to factory points — no welding or drilling
- CNC laser cut and formed from factory CAD data and 3D Creaform scans for a flush, low-profile fit
- Countersunk Artec hardware matched to OEM thread pitch
- Modular no-overlap piece that completes a full Alpha Series bellypan
- Bare aluminum stays rust-free with no paint or upkeep
- Made in the USA
Check your drivetrain before ordering: Artec offers this exhaust skid for non-eTorque 3.6L and 2.0L 4-door JLUs, and eTorque-equipped trucks use the dedicated eTorque skid instead. On a 392, the exposed muffler and tailpipe are covered by the 392 Muffler & Tip Skid. Pair this piece with the 4-door 3.6L full bellypan or the 4-door 2.0L full bellypan for continuous coverage, and browse the rest of our skid plates.
Exhaust Skid for Jeep Wrangler JLU 3.6L, 2.0L & 392 (4 Door, Aluminum) FAQs
Which JLUs can run this exhaust skid?
Artec offers it for the 2018-and-newer 4-door JLU with the 3.6L V6 or 2.0L turbo in non-eTorque form. eTorque-equipped Jeeps package hardware differently and use Artec's dedicated eTorque skid instead. The listing title also references the 392 — 392 owners should note the exposed muffler and tip on that model are handled by the separate 392 Muffler & Tip Skid.
Can I run this without the rest of the bellypan?
Yes. It is a standalone modular piece with its own 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets, so it protects the exhaust on an otherwise stock underbody. Because the Alpha Series panels never overlap, you can add the oil, transfer case, and fuel tank skids later and everything fits together.
Does installing it require cutting or welding?
No. The skid bolts to factory points using the included brackets and Artec's countersunk hardware, which matches OEM thread pitch. The bare 6061-T6 aluminum needs no paint and will not rust, so there is no finishing work after the install either.
