Muffler & Tip Skid for Jeep Wrangler JLU 392 6.4L Hemi (4 Door, Aluminum)
The Wrangler 392 hangs a large muffler and exhaust tip low behind the rear axle, right where departure-angle hits land. This Artec Industries skid (SKU JL4113) shields both with 1/4" 6061-T6 aluminum that is CNC-formed on custom-rolled dies to follow the exact contour of the factory exhaust, so rocks and ledges slide off instead of crushing the pipe. It fits 2021-and-newer 4-door 392s with the stock exhaust and is designed to run alongside Artec's 392 bellypan for a fully armored underside.
Features
- 1/4" 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets
- CNC laser cut and formed on custom-rolled dies to hug the OEM muffler and tip
- 6061-T6 memory flexes on impact and returns to shape rather than staying dented
- Protects fragile exhaust components with minimal added weight
- Bolt-on install with supplied brackets and hardware — no welding
- Designed from factory CAD files and 3D scans for a precise fit
- Rust-free bare aluminum, made in the USA
Confirm you are running the factory 392 exhaust — Artec makes a separate MagnaFlow-specific muffler and tip skid for that upgrade, so this contour will not match an aftermarket system. It covers the muffler and tip only; pair it with the 392 Full Bellypan and the 392 oil pan skid for front-to-back coverage, and find the rest of the lineup in our skid plates collection.
Muffler & Tip Skid for Jeep Wrangler JLU 392 6.4L Hemi (4 Door, Aluminum) FAQs
Will this skid work with an aftermarket exhaust?
Not this version. The plate is CNC-formed on custom-rolled dies to follow the factory 392 muffler and tip exactly, so an aftermarket system changes the contour it needs to hug. Artec offers a separate MagnaFlow-specific muffler and tip skid for that setup — order the one that matches your exhaust.
Do I need this if I already have the 392 Full Bellypan?
Yes, if you want the exhaust covered. The bellypan protects the main underbody — oil pan, transmission, transfer case, and fuel tank — while the muffler and tip hang behind it in the departure zone. This skid completes that rear section, and the two are designed to work together.
Is installation difficult?
No. The skid bolts on with the supplied 3/16" zinc-plated steel brackets and hardware, with no welding or cutting involved. The bare 6061-T6 aluminum needs no paint, will not rust, and if it takes a hard hit the alloy's memory helps it flex and return to shape.
